Our main target is protecting the European brown bear and its habitat. Our primary core working area is the Romanian Carpathians, a true European wilderness with relatively high numbers of predators. Brown bears are the top of the food chain and number 1 predator in Europe. The bear is umbrella specie. When bears do well, the whole ecosystem profits from that. Bears and other big predators as wolf and lynx are key species in the biodiversity of a nature area. Due to the decreasing of their habitat; bears and humans encounter more often, this results in conflicts.

Such as:

   * Confrontations at garbage dumps like in suburbs as Racadau, Brasov.
   * Damage at farms on beehives, fruit trees and predation on farm animals.
   * Traditional shepherds suffer damage from predation by bears, wolfs and lynx.
   * Nature recreationists, loggers and hunters encounter with predators more often.

As mentioned before, Muskwa Wild focuses especially on wilderness in the Romanian Carpathians. This is a very important and relatively healthy core area with very high biodiversity. It's very important to safeguard stable regions for the benefit of all kinds of species; flora and fauna. In our mission to safeguard this European wilderness, we are not alone. We work together with different partners on several points to create a high chance of success. We continuously work on developing and performing valuable projects. We would appreciate you to follow our activities and your support!
